Dissemination and activities for awareness creation

To create better awareness about nematodes, several activities directed to specific stakeholders will be organized during the project period, next to general dissemination activities,:

  1. Staff at other HEIs
  2. (University) students, schools and youth
  3. Extension workers/farmers and farmers’ associations
  4. Private sector
  5. Policy makers

Some examples:

  • Book ‘From A-Z, nematodes colour our lives!”, available in English, Dutch, Spanish and Mandarin. Translations will be done into French, Swahili,…
  • Student clubs with focus on nematodes, school visits and set-up of kitchen gardens
  • Open days and nematology awareness days
  • Revision of Farmer Field Schools, enhancing nematode content
