Mr. Joseph Omagwa, a member of the Nematology Research Unit at Ghent University, Belgium visited Kenyatta University, Nairobi, Kenya in September. He met with some undergraduate and postgraduate students from the Department of Plant Sciences and did a presentation on Nematodes. The students, led by Dr. Shem Nchore from the Department were very pleased to be able to host Mr. Omagwa and learn about his research. Mr. Omagwa is a Kenyan alumnus from the IMaNema programme at Ghent University and was happy for the opportunity to engage with the students and staff. He is currently pursuing his doctoral studies in Nematology at Ghent University. Dr. Joseph Kamau (Head of Plant Sciences department, KU) together with a team of technical staff made a courtesy call to welcome Mr. Omagwa to KU. Kenyatta University and Ghent University are partners in the NEMEDUSSA project and visits such as these offer a wonderful opportunity for staff and students to exchange ideas.
