This spring, the Nemedussa Student Club was established at the College of Agriculture & Veterinary Medicine at Jimma University in Ethiopia. For the first time, 10 BSc students joined the nematology team from the university to conduct research for their theses. The students were given the opportunity to receive hands-on training working with nematodes from the expert staff. This experience highlighted the value of the student club in bringing together students and staff and promoting awareness of nematodes and nematology amongst young researchers. The student club will be visiting nearby schools in June 2023 to create awareness of and interest in nematodes amongst children and the local community. T-shirts were also printed for the students to promote the NEMEDUSSA project when visiting schools.
